On January 17, 2017, the Women’s March was the largest single day protest in U.S. History.  In addition to the march in Washington DC there were Women’s Marches around the globe aiming to bring light to legislation and policies surrounding human rights, environmental rights, LGBTQ rights, immigration reform, health care reform, racial equity, and freedom of religion, workers’ rights and tolerance. 

I believe the following decade will become known as the decade of women.  Women have been showing up for children at the border, Muslims stuck at airports, peaceful sit-ins at the Capitol, writing letters to their representatives, registering voters, winning elections and above all showing up for each other.

In this exhibit I have given free rein to these five amazing female artists to tell their stories any way they want, using any medium they choose.  Each artist comes from a different background, a different part of Washington State, with many varied life experiences.
