About The Artist
Danbert Nobacon is a musician, author, actor, radio host, and performance artist. In addition to performing he teaches songwriting, drama and performance (ages 8 and up) and creative writing and is available for hire in any of these areas, performance or education wise.
Hailing from the UK Danbert was in the English punk rock pop anarchist band Chumbawamba for 22 years, and has since moving to Twisp WA in 2007 has continued to be involved in the performing arts. As well as continuing to write, record and perform spoken word and music, he has written the young adult novel “3 Dead Princes – An Anarchist Fairytale” (Exterminating Angel Press 2010) and has had essays on pop culture and politics published by a variety of online magazines. He continues to host the Mystery Motel radio show on KTRT 97.5 the root (since 2009) and has been a regular designer/model at the annual Trashion Show in Twisp since its inception in 2010. As an actor he has appeared in small, medium and leading roles in theater productions at The Merc Playhouse. He has had leading roles in Sage Bannick’s movie “An Evil Within” and in Terry Hunt’s “Haiku” both filmed in the Methow Valley. He occasionally MC’s local community events and he has been the Drama Coach at Liberty Bell High and High School since February 2014.
He has a new double album entitled “Mesmerica – Expect A Circus” that will be officially released on June 19th 2020, described as a “thespian punk rock extravaganza” … “a musical, theatrical, fantastical journey into the —literally—burning questions of our times.” The album also features local singer and actor Kira Wood Cramer and fellow Methovians fiddle player Anna Dooley, with Loren Boley playing drums and Clay Ashfor playing bass.
