Local beekeeper Susie Kowalczyk will be leading two workshops for valley beekeepers at the Education Station on the TwispWorks campus.
The first session, held January 14th, is for the beginning beekeeper.
Topics covered will include:
Getting started in beekeeping
Beehive types and materials
Tools and clothing needed
The second session, scheduled for February 11th, is for new and continuing beekeepers.
Topics covered will include:
  • Installing Bee Packages and Bee Nucs
  • Hive Management
  • Swarming
  • Treatment free discussion
Susie Kowalczyk has 9 years of experience with beekeeping and has attended workshops with Michael Bush, Dee Lusby, Kirk Webster and Tom Seeley.
