Brittany Jean, the Brewster-based singer/songwriter whose hit single “Wildfire” became the soundtrack to Okanogan County Long Term Recovery efforts, is presenting a four-concert tour to raise additional funds for recovery. The Twisp concert is Saturday, November 12, at the Merc Playhouse.

Brittany Jean, who has recorded two albums in Nashville and returns to produce her third this month, has a voice that is frequently likened to country megastar Alison Krauss.  The 24-year-old Brittany Jean, who accompanies herself on guitar, has been writing songs since she was 16—inspired by stories she experiences or hears. She wrote “Wildfire” about the night her hometown was evacuated in advance of the largest wildfire in Washington history. She donated use of the song to the video the Carlton Complex Long Term Recovery Group used to spread the word about the area’s need for assistance.

Proceeds from the Twisp concert will go to the Methow Valley Long Term Recovery Organization, which is focusing on emergency preparedness and affordable housing.

“Methow Valley Long Term Recovery is working hard to address the gaps we identified after the fires and floods of 2014 and 2015,” says Jason Paulsen, MVLTRO president. “Our MethowReady neighborhood preparedness trainings and ensuring that our community has housing that people can afford are two of our priorities this year.  We’re committed to ensuring that we’re better prepared for whatever the future brings.”
