Celebrate Poetry Month with the Confluence Poets

Happy National Poetry Month!  Join the Confluence Poets at our upcoming poetry reading and read a favorite poem of your own.

You can join in the celebration of National Poetry Month with the Confluence Poets at Trails End Bookstore on Thursday, April 27, from 5 to 7 pm. Featured readers will be Subhaga Crystal Bacon, Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, Christine Kendall, Kelleigh MacMillan, and Sam Owen. The community is also invited to share a poem of their own or one by a favorite poet.

The Confluence Poets came together after a facilitated workshop by Daemond Arrindell in Novermber of 2014 that was held at the Confluence Gallery giving rise to the name Confluence Poets. It’s a fitting name, as the group represents a confluence of voices and styles.  The poets currently meet twice monthly at the Rocking Horse Bakery to explore writing exercises and critique each other’s poems. They organized the William Stafford Birthday Reading in January, and host other poetry events in the area.
