Two opportunities to see Squirrel Butter in Twisp this weekend. Thursday, Sept 24 at the Twisp River Pub, 7:30 pm and Saturday, Sept 26 at the Twisp Grange. More about Saturday’s fundraiser event follows:

A community concert, square dance and potluck with music by the Seattle-based duo Squirrel Butter will be on Sept. 26 at Twisp Valley Grange. Cost is $5 if you bring a potluck dish, or $10 if you don’t. The potluck begins at 6 p.m., and the concert and dance start at 7 p.m. Proceeds will support the grange’s dance floor fund. Squirrel Butter is Charmaine Slaven on guitar, fiddle and vocals, and Charlie Beck on banjo, fiddle, steel guitar and vocals. The couple explore the roots of old time, early country, bluegrass, and blues music. They were featured on the NPR show “A Prairie Home Companion” in June.
