Ucross Foundation Accepting Applications for Fall 2020 Artist Residencies

Application Deadline: March 1 (Fall Residency) & September 1 (Spring Residency)

Founded in 1981, the Ucross Foundation provides uninterrupted time, workspace, and living accommodations to competitively selected visual artists, writers, and composers. Nearly thirteen hundred individuals have spent time at Ucross since it first opened its doors in Sheridan, Wyoming, coming from every state in the union as well as many countries, including Germany, France, Scotland, England, Poland, Egypt, the Netherlands, Canada, and Thailand.

The foundation currently is accepting applications for its 2020 Fall Residency program, which runs from August through December.

Residencies vary in length from two weeks to six weeks. At any one time, there are up to ten individuals in residence comprising a mix of visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and teams of collaborators. In most cases, studios are separate from living quarters. Lunch and dinners are prepared Monday to Friday by a professional chef and ample provisions are on hand for breakfasts and weekends. In addition, there is cell phone service on the property and several wireless Internet connection sites are available for resident use. Residents are responsible for providing their own working materials and for their travel to Wyoming.

While there is a $40 nonrefundable application fee, there is no charge for a residency.

Artists, writers, and composers from around the United States and elsewhere, in any stage of their professional career, are invited to apply to work as an individual or part of a team.
