Kicking off its 20th season, the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival held a sell-out musical event on Valentine’s Day, February 14^th. The performance featured rich, passionate works by Brahms and the romantic Spaniard, Joaquin Turina, both piano quartets. The audience enjoyed surprise gifts as well as some impromptu haiku and a hilarious new work written for the concert by a young wordsmith, Weston Gaylord.

The performers were led by Canadian violin virtuoso Jasper Wood. Playing alongside Jasper was the every-popular Tim Christie on viola. Tim is the artistic director of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival which, if you haven’t been, is worth a visit.

The Festival’s Artistic Director, Kevin Krentz, played cello. Completing the quartet was the consummate pianist and conductor of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Allan Dameron.
