Valentine Concert Sells Out!

February 16, 2015

Chamber photoKicking off its 20th season, the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival held a sell-out musical event on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The performance featured rich, passionate works by Brahms and the romantic Spaniard, Joaquin Turina, both piano quartets. The audience enjoyed surprise gifts as well as some impromptu haiku and a hilarious new work written for the concert by a young wordsmith, Weston Gaylord.

The performers were led by Canadian violin virtuoso Jasper Wood. Playing alongside Jasper was the every-popular Tim Christie on viola. Tim is the artistic director of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival which, if you haven’t been, is worth a visit.

The Festival’s Artistic Director, Kevin Krentz, played cello. Completing the quartet was the consummate pianist and conductor of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Allan Dameron.

Kevin and his troupe will return to the Valley this summer for a 20th season of Chamber Music, July 23 – August 1, 2015. For more information, visit www.methowmusicfestival.org
